Slow
down on the freeway.
You can save as much as 20%
of your fuel consumption by traveling at 100 km/hr rather than 120 km/hr
(which is too fast anyway). Slowing down to 90 km/hr from 100 km/hr
can save an additional 10%.
Tip # 2

Hang your clothes to dry them. About a third of your homes energy use comes from your dryer. If you find your T-shirts are too wrinkled by this process just dry them for five minutes in your dryer on the lowest setting and then hang them.

If you must use the dryer use the low temperature setting and experiment with the drying times. Often the clothes will be just fine with 30 or 40 minutes. They don’t have to be totally dry when you take them out of the dryer.
Tip # 3

Use a metal water bottle and refill it from your tap.
About one and a half million barrels of oil a year are used to make plastic water bottles.
Besides water you buy is often only filtered tap water and is less regulated than tap water.
Tip #4

Buy a couple of portable mugs so that your specialty coffees or teas
don’t involve those throw away mugs.
(Ask for organic, shade-grown, and fairly traded coffee )
Tip #5
It's easy to clean your home using items you already have in your kitchen cupboard
All-purpose cleaner
A 1:1 mix of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle will tackle most household cleaning chores.
If you don't like the smell of vinegar, add a few drops of your favourite essential oil
(choose tea tree oil if you're looking for a natural disinfectant).
Also use vinegar to clean stainless steel appliances, chrome fixtures, and to remove rust.
